You always hear about athletes getting their knees scoped.  I have always been a little bit curious as to what that’s all about. Well I finally had mine done after tearing both my left interior and exterior menisci almost 2 years ago.  It happened as I was kneeling to pet my wonderful Lab/Golden mix dog Lucy (yes she has red hair).

As I write this it is almost 24 hours after the surgery and, although I went into the situation with trepidation, I am feeling no pain and am really glad I had it done after dragging my feet (foot, actually) for so long.

What I really care about is that my handicap has gone from 13 to 19 since the injury.  I have never been long off the tee (short game is my magic).  Try tearing your meniscus if you don’t want to clear the pond on the 4th at Torrington Country Club.  With the surgery, I can almost feel (imagine) my length off the tee.

Kevin has things at goodsportsart.com under control while I recuperate.  He will be handing all of your reasonable offers for our “no reasonable offer refused” spring training sale.

And with all that is going on in the health care industry (yes, I have health insurance) I was pre-certified for the operation and everything went seemlessly. Thanks to Keith Penney, MD, my orthopedic surgeon and his entire staff and also those at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington CT.
